WORK IS MORE THAN YOUR CERTIFICATE

In the year 2004, I reason strongly on the economic challenge in our nation and the role of individual. Thereof, I found out that why we work –Using work ideology of industrial age in information age-is one of the reasons for poor people and a poor society. Our certificated ****ture above knowledge ****ture is one of the factors I saw challenging Nigeria.

School certificate has become like a cinema film ticket that guarantees graduate entrance into labour market, but vision is like the produced film watch in the cinema that guarantees more money to owner as more ticket carriers come into cinema. Today, we need more people to acquire more relevant knowledge to manage vision.

In the analogue I gave above three sets of people emerged

1 labour worker or manual worker (certificated graduate without relevant knowledge or unskilled person);
2. The knowledge worker or vision manager with relevant knowledge;
3. The visionary as the first knowledge provider.

Among these three sets of people, the common cause is that they all work.

What is work?
Any one employed in a service is consider to be working and the employer could be of diverse source. An employee is someone who gets paid in cash, kind or self fulfillment. A work has to be an avenue for contribution to the society and the way to refund the unquantifiable resource that helps sustainability of one in that society. Thereof, work is the opportunity to contribute to the development of human kind through organization in a society.

This definition makes me see that a dead man is economically important even after he has released potential inside out. A dead body adds to the nutrient of the soil but a man living without a purpose and effective contribution to human and social development is not economically important-Such a person kills the economy and delay great economy chance for the upcoming generation. Today, work is thus the acquisition and application of relevant knowledge for the task or first knowledge given at a particular period to achieve expected end.

The labour worker
The labour workers are a set of workers or employee most suited for delivery of services in the industrial age. These sets of people are one of the factors of production in the industrial age definition of factors of production. In the railway corporation, early 60’s, in Nigeria the charcoal loader and locomotive service operators are expedient player in the Nigeria economy. A farmer with myriad of children and wives are a primary factor among factors of production in agriculture age. These sets of people are relevant in the agriculture and industrial age because they possessed the relevant skills and muscles to contribute to the tax of those ages.

The knowledge worker
I came across the knowledge worker concept from the American author called peter Drucker.

In time magazine, time euro magazine of 27 the September edition 2004. I made known my submission on the relevant of human mind well capacitated to the development of work place and nation. “The head of a nation is the capital; the head of a human is its capital. When I read about regeneration, development, changes and specialties of the cities in your stories, I discovered that the people who successfully transformed the unheralded places you described used their heads to combat complacency. What a great way to use the human mind.

A knowledge worker is the best means of production in the information age we are. A knowledge worker owns its means of production that is the relevant knowledge. A knowledge worker synergy with capitalist makes work and production suitable.

Unlike the Carl Marx postulated, in the industrial age, that the greatest change in the society resulting from introduction of capitalism was the alienation of the worker. Worker no longer own the tool of production they could produce only if somebody else that is the capitalist furnished the tools, especially the steadily more expensive machinery.
This postulate of Marx is still common labour mind set workers irrespective of the university certificate or trade learnt. Every one without relevant knowledge is still an age illiterate. The high demand and growth of communication business approved this belief.
It is the spill over of crop of industrial age mind set into information and knowledge age that is causing huge unemployment and bankrupts of organizations.

The labour worker, a machine operator in the factory would do as he is been told .The machine decide not only what to do but how to do it since it has been efficiently coupled to do as such. The knowledge worker, a computer or soft ware designer and operator is neither been told what to do let alone how to do it by the computer. Thus knowledge, which is the property of the worker makes computer productive.

Among the knowledge worker is the class of the vision managers. Every organization with a tax has a vision; this vision is the first knowledge. Thereof, the greatest investment in this information age is relevant knowledge acquisition and its effective application. A manager of a tax is someone who is able to provide relevant knowledge for existing or first knowledge to produce the expected result.
Visionary
Organization tax is her vision. When it is not properly understood there cannot be provision of relevant knowledge to manage it. Vision is the preferred future of any organization for the benefit of the larger society. A visionary is simply the one with the responsibility of laying the solid foundation for the relevant knowledge workers to fit in. capacitating workers with knowledge in the visional journey is the priority for organization that will out live the visionary.

When you are hunger for food because you needed energy to continue a task and you walk into an eatery, purchase a pack food and departed with both food and receipt.

When you consumed the food you discover that the receipt was not with you again. Will you have got the energy to work or not? This is my belief that it is your intake per time that is proportional to your delivery. The relevant knowledge per time is the energy needed to run with any organization task or vision.

SUPPOSE THE PROFIT MARGIN FOR THE BUSINESS U WANT TO DO IS REALLY SMALL,BUT ITS WHAT U ALWAYS WANTED TO DO.WHAT NEXT?CHIMA

I've just hit a snag. We were denied first phase funding from the bank and they didn't even read the business plan, even though it was approved by their own start-up partners as technically viable.
Apart from some initial general reasons for the denial of finance was lack of enough capital apported by the promotors. I was never told there was a minimum ratio we had to include? Plus they disregarded our project based upon a few keywords. I find this disappointing, annoying and downright scandalous that a bank can advertise themselves as entreprenuer-friendly without displaying specific criteria. They could have saved us a lot of time and effort if they had simply stated minimum requirements.

Has anyone else suffered from such undignified defeat?

I was searching for my "top ten" list of movies or anything that inspire me more to improve myself and been better entrepreneur. for example on movies: Glengarry Glen Rose, wal street, "history of Cocacola" BBC documentary, boiler room, etc.
