Member poll question

WHICH ENTREPRENEUR DO YOU MOST ADMIRE?

From time to time we will be asking our members a question, in order to start a conversation about a particular aspect of entrepreneurialism.

In the time that Join2Grow has been on-line, over two thousand of you have logged-on, registered, and offered your ideas and opinions.  It’s obvious that you have a lot to say. This forum encourages discussion and debate about the subjects that matter most to you.

Please use the comment feature at the bottom of the page to respond in as much detail as you like.

We, and other members of the Join2Grow community, are eager to hear what you have to say!

And so, the question…

I would say Arnaud Huret, for all is conviction he put in his projects.

I was thinking that his projects would works, if it's not now it would be sometimes, and he continues to work on it.

A good belgian example in electronic finance are the brothers Zurstrassen. They founded the Keytrade electronic bank and sold it to a bigger financial institution. Nowadays they were somewhat quicker than Banksys in order to start with mobile payments. The company is called Tunz.

Anita Roddick! She is the founder of a multi-national enterprise with over 77 million customers in over 50 markets, and she's managed to business a business that is both profitable and a powerful force for good in the world.

From her website (http://www.anitaroddick.com):

"I started The Body Shop in 1976 simply to create a livelihood for myself and my two daughters, while my husband, Gordon, was trekking across the Americas. I had no training or experience and my only business acumen was Gordon’s advice to take sales of £300 a week.

Nobody talks of entrepreneurship as survival, but that's exactly what it is and what nurtures creative thinking.

Running that first shop taught me business is not financial science, it’s about trading: buying and selling. It’s about creating a product or service so good that people will pay for it."

In my job, I am working daily with entrepreneurs creating and running SME's in West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. I admire a lot of them. There are several examples of entrepreneurs who build small but unique businesses which are world class in their domain.

People who started their business and still are in control of the strong evolution. They create value for themselves and for the people who work for him.
