Fortis Young Design : art and commerce, hand in hand
Fortis Bank Polska is pioneering a collaboration between creativity and commerce. A new programme, Fortis Young Design, will put young designers together with potential investors and businessmen who wish to develop and sell products in which design is a critical element.
In a globalised business environment, creativity has become an ever more critical factor in market success. The Fortis Young Design programme will help entrepreneurs and business investors by providing access to new ideas and approaches that can make their businesses more efficient, and help them to stand out in an increasingly cluttered and competitive marketplace.
The programme also seeks to discover and encourage young creative talent. It will provide opportunities for them to exhibit their work and network with members of the business and investment communities in Poland. It will also expose young creatives to marketplaces, giving them critical opportunity to develop experience and knowledge of the practical realities of commerce.
Fortis Young Design, developed in collaboration with the Industrial Design Institute, consists of several components: a grant programme, exhibitions and lectures for entrepreneurs, which have been scheduled to take place through the Summer of 2008. The programme was launched in mid-February and followed up a month later with a Design Party, a networking event that included national and regional administration decision makers, top management of the most renown global and Polish brands and corporations, prominent designers, Fortis Bank Polska special guests, journalists, designers and businessmen.
