The second part of out interview with serial-entrepreneur Eric Poelmann, who publishes an innovative, insightful, very useful newsletter for Europeans who want to invest in the best China has to offer. His equity picks last year returned 57% for subscribers.

China's number one trading partner is the EU – not America or Japan. What do you see for the future of EU-Chinese relations?
 
Difficult question. China is the factory of the world. Their production capacity has made our lives more comfortable. Cheap products everywhere. China is a threat at the same time, because we in Europe do not produce enough anymore. Same in the USA. If you see how much money is flowing to China, then you have to ask yourself, what does this look like in 25 years or so? In the USA, this situation is already becoming more critical.

You can only consume as much as you produce. If you consume more, you have to make (print) money. I am afraid, this is going to be very hard on Europe in the long run.  


Can you tell us about your experiences of doing business in the EU? Is Holland good place to do business?
 
Holland is a small country, but you can earn a decent income when you do things well. Europe is another thing. Different languages, different cultures. The thing is, that you can make most out of your business in mass marketing when you work in your on native language


What are the biggest problems facing people who want to start an online business or newsletter?

 
The biggest problem for us was lack of know-how. First, we had to discover how to market publishing products. However, we found out quickly, that we had enough experience in our backpack, to do a good job. Second problem was content. But here also, you find enough on the internet to build a nice newsletter.
